The Arkleston Singers
History
The Arkleston Singers first came together in 1979 as a fundraising group for a trip to the USA by the then Scottish National Orchestra Chorus. When the fundraising was over, the singers decided to stay together and continue to perform for their own enjoyment and the pleasure of others. The name 'The Arkleston Singers' comes from the venue for the first meeting of the group - a member’s house in Arkleston Road, Paisley!

Although all of the original members were with the RSNO Chorus, today’s Arkleston Singers come from a variety of musical backgrounds.

Founding Musical Director Tom Ferguson led the group for 20 years and was followed, in 1999, by Gordon Mabbot. Ken Paterson took over in 2005 and our current MD, Marcus Kitchen joined us in 2016.
